Wrong-Way Driver Causes Fatal Vehicle Crash near the Florida-Georgia Border

A Greyhound bus heading for Atlanta was involved in a fatal, 5-vehicle crash near the Florida-Georgia border. Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Sgt. Tracy Pace reported the crash occurred about 11:44 PM, Friday, April 5, in the northbound lanes of I-75 in Hamilton County, Florida, shortly after authorities received a call about a wrong-way driver in a 1993 Buick Century.

Kissimmee Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident

A 65-year-old disabled man was hit by a driver who left the scene of the accident near U.S. Highway 441 and Carroll Street in Kissimmee. Florida Highway Patrol troopers said they arrived around 8am Sunday, March 30 at the crash site. Troopers identified the pedestrian as Rafael Cotto, a resident of Kissimmee, who was found lying in the shoulder of Highway 441.

4-Year-Old Killed, Mother and Infant Critically Injured in Sunrise Crash

A child was killed after he, his younger brother and mother were hit by a vehicle in Sunrise on Saturday evening, March 22. Sunrise police spokeswoman Cindi McCue said the accident happened around 8:15pm in the 4100 block of Pine Island Road. According to investigators, 37-year-old Natali Munzer Alja’ouni and her 2 children were on the sidewalk when they were run over.

Cruise Worker Charged with Sexual Assault and Attempted Murder

A Holland America cruise worker raped and viciously beaten a cruise ship passenger last month on Valentine’s Day. The vicious attack happened on the MS Nieuw Amsterdam, which departed from Port Everglades on February 9, according to court records. The worker, identified as Ketut Pujayasa, 28, was quickly detained on the ship and arrested by the FBI when it returned to Fort Lauderdale on February 16.

The 31-year-old woman, who is from the U.S. but was identified only by her initials in court records, said she lost consciousness at least once during the assault and firmly believed her attacker was trying to kill her.

NTSB Releases Initial Report on Fatal Wakulla County Helicopter Crash

A helicopter crash in Wakulla County killed 2 people and seriously injured a third last month. The Robinson R-44 helicopter crashed February 8 as it was taking off from Wakulla County Airport in Panacea. The pilot, Terry Ooten, 49 of Tallahassee along with a second passenger, 53-year-old Curtis Robert Clifford were both killed.

Experienced Pilot Dies after Small Plane Crash in Wellington

A longtime pilot who flew helicopters for the marines and commercial planes for American Airlines died on February 17 after his new plane crashed into a lake near his Wellington home. The aircraft was a small, blue and yellow homebuilt plane he proudly showed his neighbors just months earlier.

The accident happened just before 1pm near the end of the runway at the private Wellington Aero Club, where the pilot lived.

Drugged Driver Turns Himself in after Injuring a Police Officer

A Pembroke Pines police officer was hospitalized in December 2013 after a driver crashed through the front gates of a school before striking the officer’s car and running off the road and ending upside down. The accident occurred just before 1am when the driver of a beige SUV, Emilio Espinoza-Rojas, 24, drove through a stop sign at Northwest 184th Avenue and Pembroke Road, crashing through the closed front gates at Pines Charter West School.
